OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

HEY HP!!!! I cannot believe how hard it is to find sometimes necessary parts and accessories for my less-than-a-year old, still under warranty Omen 16 laptop! I always like to keep 2 chargers around, one for home and one for travel, and it is impossible to find what my laptop came with (150W) anywhere on this site! I just get referred to some "authorized" parts dealer. So recently I just ordered an aftermarket one at an excellent price that is actually a 200W version. It is working great so far and my Omen is having no issues using it.

Now in the department of batteries? Forget about it! No help there either! WHEN I need a new one, eventually, it looks like once again, I'll have to order something OUTSIDE of HP! What kind of support IS this, HP? When I needed something for my previous Lenovo Ideapad Z585, I NEVER had problems finding what I needed.

I get it if it was a unique part, but BATTERIES AND CHARGERS???? This is rediculous!

Sorry, Community, but I just had to vent. How about the rest of you? Do you have the same situation?

@Jebcovet,

At least in my opinion, nothing to work yourself into a tizzy.

Let's see: since when did I buy computer components/parts directly from HP? -Well, come to think of it, like never.

I prefer to do my own research and purchase parts through eCommerce sites such as Amazon, if only because customer feedback is often quite useful.  Or eBay, where you can get parts much less expensive.

Kind Regards,

I get what you're saying, Non. I know there are other sources and I did use Amazon for my second charger. There are times though where I see that other people have had trouble with after market chargers not being accepted by their laptops and they get an error message. Like with working on cars/vehicles, there are times when OEM is the absolute best way to go. AND, I was using the battery and chargers as a typical example because that's what I have had to research so far. God forbid if I have to find a replacment screen bezel or a bad IO port or something else. Methinks sometimes that HP (and maybe other manufacturers) just want you to send all repairs or updates to them, costing way more than DIY.
