Every time I turn on my computer, the following message pops up:

HP.OMEN.Overlay.OverlayHelper

Do you want to install this app?

I don’t know what this is and if it is actually coming from HP.  Please explain.

Hi @Dino1950,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The message you’re seeing, HP.OMEN.Overlay.OverlayHelp is legitimate and comes from HP’s OMEN Gaming Hub software.

How to stop it

Disable Overlay in OMEN Gaming Hub

Open OMEN Gaming Hub → Settings → turn off Overlay.

Remove from Startup

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc → Startup tab → find HP.OMEN.Overlay.OverlayHelper → Disable.

Uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub (if you don’t need it)

Press Win + R, type appwiz.cpl, Enter → uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
