Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, everyone!

I want to install additional 2x SSD for 1tb each.

Right now I have 256 GB  SSD + 1 TB HDD, my Windows is on 256 gb SSD

It is possible to install first 1tb SSD, move  all data from 256gb SSD and install Windows on new 1 tb SSD

After I will replace my old 256gb SSD to 1tb SSD.

1. There are instructions how to replace SSD for this laptop?

2. This SSD is good https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-Gen3x4-000MB-SU001TBP34A80M28AB/dp/B07L6GF81L/ref=sr_1_1?keywor...

OR

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-970-EVO-1TB-MZ-V7E1T0BW/dp/B07BN217QG/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=raid+ssd+1t...

There is different?

Hello @erik451

Yes you can install either one of those brands for the SSD. Nothing wrong with either one.

I would disconnect both drives before installing Windows to the first SSD. You could use the HP USB Recovery Media, but it will most likely create Windows onto a smaller partition as the way its configured on the existing 250 GB drive. So I would simply use the Microsoft Media Creation tool and make a new installer on USB. Create media Windows 10

Then you can transfer any data to the new SSD afterwards. Or I would put any data from the 250GB drive, directly to the 2nd 1TB SSD that you are going to use for storage anyways. You can do it however you want.

Here is the instruction manual link... page 40...  http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05808729
