Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-d0000 (2V8U8AV)

Hi everyone.

When I run the command in the CMD:

wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity, MemoryDevices

I get:

Max Capacity 33554432 MemoryDevices 2

Does this mean I can increase the RAM to 32GB or 64GB in total?

I have a Victus by HP Laptop 16-d0017nl, currently equipped with 16GB (2 x 8GB). The fact is that online some say 32GB, others 64GB..

Thank you so much for your attention and participation.

Hi:

Your report indicates the max memory is 32 GB in total (16 GB per slot).

The Crucial memory report indicates the notebook will support 2 x 32 GB of memory.

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max memory is 2 x 16 GB:

I did a search on this forum can cannot find any posts where someone actually installed 64 GB of memory in the model series and reported the results.

It would be an interesting, but expensive experiment.

so what would you advise me to do? I have no problems in terms of price, but I don't want to switch to 64GB if my computer can't handle it

Personally, I would assess the actual need to install 64 GB of memory.

How much free memory does your notebook currently have now according to the Windows Resource Monitor app's memory tab?

One of my PC's has 48 GB of memory installed (the one I am currently on now), the Windows Resource Monitor indicates the amount of free memory is approximately 42.350 GB.

My PC can support 64 GB of memory.

Since I have more free memory than I know what to do with, I would consider it a waste of money to max out the memory.

The specs for your notebook indicate that it has 2 x 8 GB of memory.

If the Windows resource monitor, indicates any free memory at all, then by installing 32 GB of memory you should have 16 GB of free memory available.

The experiment I would conduct if you still believe you need 64 GB of memory, would be to buy one 32 GB memory chip.

Remove one of the 8 GB chips.

If the PC boots up, works fine and reports 40 GB of memory, it would be safe to assume the notebook will support 64 GB of memory.
