Hi,
I'm considering upgrading the SSD drive in my Omen laptop. It came with a 128GB SSD drive that is nearly full. I'd like to upgrade to a 1TB drive. Is there a way to do this and transfer/copy/clone the Windows 10 installation as well as the other software installations and files?
Thanks.
Kurt

Copy normally won't work. Transfer and Clone are 2 methods to transfer contents on old HDD/SSD to new HDD/SSD. I myself always use Clone at least 4 times a year now (before can be 10 or 12 times/year) because it is good and safe.
SSD vendors normally give a Cloning software when you buy SSD (or tell you where to download) but you use many free software around

I also use a dock to clone but you can use standard USB - PCIe adapter to clone (note, there are 2 types of USB - PCIe adapter (NVMe or SATA), you need to use the right one. I can't find Omen 17-an0dx11. I believe it must be Omen 17-an011dx, its specs

You are saying it has 128GB, well I don't know why. But the 17-an011dx above supports M.2 NVMe SSD therefore you need USB - NVMe adapter.
Regards.

Hi Banhien,
Thank you for your response. You are correct about the model. I mistyped. It's the Omen 17-an011dx. The specs in the link you provided are correct with the exception of the 128GB SSD mine came with.
I looked into the USB - NVMe adapter. If I already have an SSD, do I really need an adaptor?
Here's a link for the SSD I was thinking of buying: https://www.crucial.com/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&urlLangId=-1&scanId=4E30449631D926C3&productId=...
If it helps, below is a photo of what I believe is the SSD in my computer.
Thanks.
