Upgrade SSD

I'm looking at upgrading my 512GB SSD and was curious if a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO would work or if that's too much.

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05561065
It has 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA and you say it has 512GB SSD. Please check Device Manager > Disk Drives to what is it ?
Regards.

Yes, you can change to 1TB or 2TB using Samsung 2.5" SSD
