Hi @Nendot,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've updated the AMD driver on your HP Victus 15 FB1xxx and are now experiencing issues with changing the brightness, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

Rollback the Driver Update:

  • Since the issue started after updating the AMD driver, try rolling back the driver to the previous version. You can do this by going to Device Manager, finding the AMD graphics driver under "Display adapters," right-clicking on it, selecting "Properties," going to the "Driver" tab, and then selecting "Roll Back Driver" if the option is available. This will revert the driver to the previous version.

Reinstall AMD Driver:

  • If rolling back the driver doesn't resolve the issue, try reinstalling the AMD driver. You can download the latest driver from the AMD website or the HP support website. After downloading the driver, uninstall the current AMD driver from Device Manager, restart your laptop, and then install the newly downloaded driver.

Update BIOS:

  • Sometimes, updating the BIOS can resolve compatibility issues with hardware components like the GPU. Check the HP support website for BIOS updates specific to your Victus 15 model. Follow the instructions provided by HP to update the BIOS.

Check Power Settings:

  • Ensure that the power settings in Windows are not affecting the brightness control. Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options, and then adjust the settings for your current power plan. Make sure that the brightness settings are configured correctly for both "On battery" and "Plugged in" scenarios.

Adjust Brightness Manually:

  • If you're unable to change the brightness through the usual methods, such as using the function keys or the settings menu, try adjusting the brightness directly in the AMD Radeon software. Open the AMD Radeon software, go to the display settings, and look for options to adjust brightness.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the brightness control issue on your HP Victus 15 FB1xxx after updating the AMD driver.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
