Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with the built-in camera on my HP laptop. Whenever I try to open the Camera app it just gives me a blank/black screen and the camera light and screen switches on for a nano second and then goes back. This flicker happens every 20-30 seconds and when I use it for video calls via zoom or teams, I get a message saying either NoCamerasAreAttached or camera failed." It’s like the system doesn’t even recognize that there’s a camera at all.

I have tried few things.

  • Looked for a physical camera switch on the laptop — pretty sure this model doesn’t have one.

  • Checked privacy settings — camera access is on for all apps and services.

  • I have tried uninstalling the device and driver both from Device manager

  • the camera app shows in the start menu but it doesn't work after that
