I recently got a Victus 16 gaming laptop and it’s been working pretty well so far. I was playing a video game and realized my fans weren’t on. I went to the omen settings and the fans wouldn’t turn on. The gpu and cpu temps were both well over 100F. I turned off the game and tried to reset omen when the monitor and keyboard began to flash and eventually shut down. I let it sit overnight with it unplugged and when I tried turning it on this morning, it didn’t. However when I plugged in my charger, the fans turned on, my mouse lit up, and the little light for the charger port still worked. Any ideas? Thank you.

Hi @Jackson456,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your Victus 16 gaming laptop might be experiencing a few different issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you get it working again.
Power Reset:
- Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
- Hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reinsert the battery (if you removed it) and plug in the charger.
- Try to power on the laptop again.
Check for Overheating:
- If the laptop was running hot, it might have shut down to prevent damage. Ensure the laptop is in a well-ventilated area and try to start it again.
Check Connections:
- Ensure all external devices (mouse, keyboard, etc.) are properly connected. Disconnect any external devices and try to power on the laptop with just the charger connected.
Test with Another Charger:
- If possible, try using a different compatible charger to rule out a charger issue.
Inspect the Charger and Port:
- Check for any visible damage to the charging port or the charger. Sometimes, a loose or damaged port can prevent the laptop from starting properly.
BIOS/UEFI Reset:
- If you can get the laptop to turn on but it doesn’t boot, you might need to reset the BIOS/UEFI settings. This can usually be done by pressing a specific key (like F2, F10, or ESC) immediately after powering on the laptop.
Given that the fans and other components power up but the laptop doesn’t boot properly, there might be an issue with the internal components like the motherboard or GPU. Keeping the laptop cool and ensuring proper ventilation will help prevent overheating in the future.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
