Product Name: Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fa0xxx
Operating System: Edition Windows 11
Version 25H2
Installed on ‎25-‎10-‎2025

OS build 26200.8655
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.315.0

Hello HP Support Team,

I am facing an issue with my HP Victus Gaming Laptop. The built-in camera is not working, and it does not appear in the Device Manager, even after selecting “Show hidden devices.”

It seems that the camera drivers are missing or not installed properly on my Windows 11 system. I have already:

  • Checked Windows Updates (system is up to date)

  • Scanned for hardware changes in Device Manager

  • Tried installing drivers using HP Support Assistant

  • Restarted the laptop multiple times

However, the camera still does not show up or function.

I would appreciate your assistance in:

  1. Providing the correct camera driver download link or software package for my model.

  2. Guiding me through the process of restoring or reinstalling the camera driver in Windows 11.

Thank you for your support.

Hi @ScamPC,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Confirm Webcam Hardware is Enabled in BIOS

Sometimes, the webcam may be disabled at the firmware level.

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Navigate to Advanced > Built-in Device Options.
  • Ensure Integrated Camera is enabled.
  • Save and exit.

Manually Install HP Webcam Driver

HP sometimes bundles webcam drivers under chipset or other categories.

  • Go to the official HP support page for your model:
    Official HP® Support
  • Select Windows 11 as your OS.
  • Expand the following categories:
    • Driver - Chipset
    • Driver - Original
  • Look for anything related to the Realtek IR Camera, HP Wide Vision HD Camera, or USB Camera Driver.
  • Download and install all relevant drivers.

Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

To check if the webcam hardware is physically detected:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the Component Tests > Webcam Test.
  • If the webcam is not detected here, it may be a hardware issue.

Reinstall USB controllers.

Sometimes the webcam is connected via internal USB.

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  • Right-click each USB root hub and choose "Uninstall device."
  • Restart your PC-Windows will reinstall them automatically.

Check for Hidden Devices Again

  • In Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices.
  • Look under Imaging Devices, Cameras, or Unknown Devices.
  • If found, right-click and choose Update driver > Search automatically.

If the webcam still doesn't appear:

  • It could be a hardware failure or loose internal connection.

I hope this helps

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Hello. I just like everyone else with this same issue have done all of this. I have even reinstalled Windows and still no resolution.

This is most definitely a SW problem and neither HP or Microsoft will claim ownership. If it was just a one off situation then I could believe it being a hardware failure or loose connection. But considering this is plaguing multiple computer as I find on this forum this is 100% SW issue,

HP just needs to add the info of the camera or the driver on their website.

Hi @asda87,

Since you’ve already completed the initial troubleshooting and even reinstalled Windows without success, let’s try a few additional steps.

Run System File Checker

Open Command Prompt (Admin).

Run: sfc /scannow

After completion, run:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Restart and check if the camera stack is restored.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,
