Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 (2V8Z8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

It's been 11 months since I bought this device and have been using while the charger is plugged-in, or when the battery is above 50%, However In recent events, I have to travel a lot and I realized that whenever my laptop charging dropping below 15%, It hardly gives me 3-4 min before it gets shut down and the battery is also draining fast which I never realized while I had the flexibility of my charging cable. I wonder now If I made the right choice as the company claimed to have the battery life of 4-8 hours at a single charge. If anyone can help in fixing the issue, as there could be few things, I may not be aware of.

Hi @Santyy2024,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing issues with the battery on your Victus by HP gaming laptop. Here are  steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Calibrate the Battery:

  • Start by calibrating the battery to ensure the operating system accurately detects its capacity. To do this, charge your laptop to 100%, then use it on battery power until it completely drains and shuts down. Charge it back to 100% without interruptions.

Update Device Drivers:

  • Ensure that all your device drivers are up to date, especially the battery and power-related drivers. Visit the official HP website or use the Windows Update feature to check for the latest drivers.

Check Power Settings:

  • Verify your power settings to make sure they are configured appropriately. Adjust the settings in the Power Options to optimize battery usage.

Windows Update:

  • Make sure your Windows operating system is fully updated. Sometimes, system updates include improvements and fixes that can address battery-related issues.

Battery Health Report:

  • Generate a battery health report to get detailed information about your battery's health. Open a Command Prompt as an administrator and type the following command: powercfg /batteryreport /output "C:\battery_report.html"

  • Open the generated HTML file to review the report.

BIOS/UEFI Update:

  • Check if there are any BIOS/UEFI updates available for your laptop on the HP support website. These updates can sometimes include improvements in battery management.

Background Processes:

  • Check for background processes or applications that might be consuming excessive resources. Task Manager can help you identify and close any unnecessary programs.

Remember to back up your important data before performing any system updates or major changes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
