Hello my battery is swollen and won't hold a charge anymore I need to get a replacement that I can install myself I am quite skilled at doing that I just need the replacement part. What is the part number I should be looking for?

Since I posted this I have searched the board more and have seen others have received replacement batteries sent to them do the recalls litigation etc.   I know my computer is out of warranty but I'm wondering if that's still an option that HP would provide where they would just send me the battery, as I have been a loyal customer buying multiple PCs, printers etc. throughout my family and work for many years.

Is your machine is still under warranty ? If yes, you can contact HP in your country DIRECTLY to get new battery for your machine. Otherwise you have to buy new battery part # 853294-855 which is N/A from HP

You can use part # to order elsewhere. I saw on Newegg for around $80. HP won't allow me to post the link, please search yourself.

Regards.
