I have tried number of ways to fix my webcam, but its not working. For last couple of days, my webcam is not working. None of the solution is working that are available. Even i checked the driver option in HP website, but did not find any driver to download. I have an exam which required to have webcam. Any way to solve the solution? My laptop is Victus 15-fa0000(680A2AV)

Hi @nayan9770,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for your patience! Based on your model (Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000) and the issue you're facing, here's a consolidated guide to help you get your webcam working again, especially since you have an exam coming up.

1. Check for Hidden Devices

Sometimes the webcam is hidden in Device Manager:

  1. Press Win + X → select Device Manager.
  2. Click View > Show hidden devices.
  3. Look for CamerasImaging Devices, or Unknown Devices.
  4. If you find your webcam, right-click → Enable or Update Driver.

 2. Check Webcam Privacy Settings

  1. Press Win + I to open Settings.
  2. Go to Privacy & Security > Camera.
  3. Ensure Camera access is on.
  4. Scroll down and make sure apps like CameraZoom, or Teams have permission.

3. Check for a Physical Webcam Switch or Shutter

  • keyboard shortcut (like F8 or F10) to disable/enable the webcam. Look for a camera icon on your function keys.

If the shutter is closed or the key is toggled off, the webcam will not work, even if the drivers are fine.

4. Force Windows to Detect the Webcam

  1. In Device Manager, right-click your laptop name at the top.
  2. Select Scan for hardware changes.
  3. If the webcam appears, install the driver.

5. Install HP Drivers (Even if Not Listed)

HP sometimes bundles the webcam driver with the Intel Chipset or HP Universal Camera Driver:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
