I have an Omen by HP 15-dc0085tx. I usually plug in the AC adapter while using it, during which time my temperature ranges from 75 to 85 degrees Celsius and never below. This is when I just do casual tasks like browse on the internet. On touching the part above the keyboard I found it to be hot.
However, when I use my laptop without plugging in the adapter the temperature averages around 55 degrees Celsius.
I am very anxious as to whether these high temperatures are indicative of any problems with my battery.

@inf_intellect Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you would like to know the CPU temperature for HP Omen.
The 75 to 85 degree is normal. It should not cross more than 95 degrees.
However, please perform the below steps.
Try updating the computer, this will install the latest updates -
Step 1 Windows Updates -
1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant
- In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant.
- Check for updates.
- If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.
Please update the Graphics drivers and update the BIOS.

@Praveen196 Thank you for your suggestions. I should have mentioned it in the question, but I was wondering, what temperature is acceptable while gaming ? My laptop quite easily exceeds 95 degrees when I'm playing games like GTA 5.

I understand your concerns.
There is no minimum temperature while playing the games.
While you are playing it will increase.
As you have stated that it reaches 95 degrees. Have you tried to uninstall the graphics drivers and update the BIOS?
Is the laptop is very hot to touch?
If yes, I would suggest you contact our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.
Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.
1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.
Have a nice day!!

Yes, it is indeed very hot to touch when I play games with the AC adapter plugged in. I have updated my BIOS, but haven't got to the graphics drivers yet, I'll do that and if I'm still facing the same issue, I will contact hp support.
