What is the maximum ram capacity of the Hp Omen 17cb0005na?

Similarly, it is stated that this site has 64GB of RAM support: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-omen-17-cb0005na

However, the HP user manual writes that it has a maximum ram capacity of 32GB for "17-cb0000" and "17-cb000" models.

The 17-cb000 and 17-cb0000 series have the same (Intel HM370) chipset. So the 17-cb0005na model should have 64GB ram upgrade option.

Hi:

Many times the HP service manual understates the max memory you can install in their notebooks.

Usually the crucial report is right.

However, unless someone on this forum has actually installed 64 GB of memory in the same model notebook as yours, you will never find the sure answer.

Certainly the processor and chipset your notebook has, supports 64 GB (and more), but all we can do is go by what the various manuals state unless we want to experiment.

I have two PC's where I have gone with the chipset/processor hardware specs or the Crucial specs which were more than the official service manuals indicated and the memory worked just fine.

I think Hp Omen 17 series offers 64GB ram support. But it is confusing for Hp to officially report this.

This is a very expensive experiment. Instead of making this risky investment, I am thinking of installing 32gb (2 × 16 kit) at the end of the warranty period. Yes, it would be very expensive to try 64 GB.

You'll be fine with 32 GB which usually is more than enough memory for almost any situation.
