Hey,
I want to connect my laptop to a monitor(msi optix g241) and found that a display port is best for gaming, Having ordered a display port it wont fit into my laptop. (HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx) how would I go about finding one that fits my laptop?
Thanks!

What is your HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx ? For example
HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb035wm
99% chance is your machine has same ports of the above machine, which are
- 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge);
- 3 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (1 HP Sleep and Charge);
- 1 HDMI;
- 1 RJ-45;
- 1 headphone/microphone combo
Your machine does NOT have native DP port therefore DP cable won't fit to any port on your machine.
The simplest way to connect to an external monitor is to use its HDMI port which is HDMI v2.0 supporting up to 4096×2160 @ 60Hz.
Other option is to use USB-C adapter (to be honest, I don't know which adapter would work on your machine, I tested on USB-C Gen 2 but not Gen 1) and you MAY get same result as connecting to DP port.
Regards.
