OMEN by HP 15-dc0507na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Everyone,

I recently bought the OMEN by HP 15-dc0507na and need to be able to lock my laptop to my desk, I was pleased that the OMEN by HP 15 comes with a "Kensington MiniSaver™ security lock support" (to quote the specification guide), however the Kensington MiniSaver lock was far too big to fit into the security slot. I have tried two other genuine Kensington locks (NanoSaver and MicroSaver 2.0 ) with no luck, the MicroSaver 2.0 came closest to working but wouldn't turn the full 90°.

Does anyone know which Kensington lock actually fits or do you think there is a problem with the security slot on the laptop itself?

Thanks.

If the Kensington does not fit, I guess you have to go for a HP Sec Lock. Try the HP Essential Keyed Cable Lock.

Hi Djeron,

Thank you for your response, I actually spoke to someone from the HP Store regarding the HP Essential Keyed Cable Lock and they didn't seem to know much about it, but insisted it would only work with "business laptops". Ultimately they said they don't have anything that would work for my laptop (after I finally conviced them that my laptop does exist and that they do sell them), but I might try and buy it anyway and see for myself as I don't have much confidence in their advice.
