Hi @ONIONH34D,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand that your laptop is getting around 130 Mbps, while your phone reaches 1.4 Gbps on the same Wi-Fi network. This difference can be related to the laptop's Wi-Fi adapter capabilities, driver, frequency band, or connection settings.
To help identify the cause, could you please confirm:
- What is your exact HP laptop model or product number?
- Are both devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network and frequency band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?
- Does the laptop consistently get around 130 Mbps, even when close to the router?
- Did the speed decrease recently, or has it always been this way?
- Have you already updated or reinstalled the Wi-Fi driver?
In the meantime, please try these steps:
Check the Wi-Fi connection:
On Windows, go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi and confirm that the laptop is connected to the intended network.
Check the adapter driver:
Open Device Manager > Network adapters, note the exact Wi-Fi adapter name, and check its driver version under Properties > Driver.
Please share your laptop model and the output values for receive rate, transmit rate, and radio type. We can then determine whether an adapter reset or another targeted fix is appropriate.
Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
