OMEN by HP Laptop 15-dc0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good afternoon,

I've noticed this issue for a couple of weeks now, but have been waiting for it to solve itself, which it hasn't happened.
My wifi signal disconnects whenever im on battery power and plug in the powerplug. I have to manually reconnect to my wifi network. Same issue happens when im pluged in and take of the plug from the laptop. the wifi disconnects and i have to reconnect it manually.

In short, the wifi disconects whenever I plug in or remove the power plug.

The issue cant be from the network since it has happened in multiple locations. Im thinking it is a driver issue, but my drivers are all up to date, according to the HP support assistent desktop client.

any feedback would be appriciated, and sorry for any mistakes. English is not my mother tongue. Thank you

Edit: the wifi simbol in task bar remains showing perfect connection, however if i try to refresh or open a new page it show the no internet acess message in the browser

@danim60,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Support Community,

Please try these steps first.

1. Open CMD with Administrator

2. Type:  sc config storsvc type= own

( this resets this service to its default state )

3. Restart the PC.

4. Check if this fixes it.

I recommend you try to follow the below steps:

Go to Device manager > select the WIFI drivers under network adapter> Right click go to properties  > Under properties go to Power Management Tab> Uncheck  "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

If it does not, please visit this link for further support: HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 10)

Next thing, I would suggest here is to uninstall the wireless drivers from device manager:

Right-Click on start button> click device manager> Network adapters>then select the wireless drivers and right-click on it and uninstall the Wifi drivers.

Then restart the computer and check if you are able to go online.

Finally, please update the bios, chipset and wifi drivers from this link: http://hp.com/drivers Please select the country and follow the on-screen instructions.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for the answer.

I did everything has you said but the issue still remains.. Like I said on the original post, I have been using HP Support assistant. It says everything is fine and all drivers are up to date. The Bios was updated last month if im not mistaken, thanks to the HP support assistent.
The laptop is new, doesn't have 6 months yet, and the wireless card is the Intel AC 9560. I dare to say the I have had the issue since the begining (not really sure about this) so is there a chance the card is just defective?

@danim60,

Great to have you back,

I would suggest you try to run a test on the Wireless card from F2 (Please remember to capture the failure ID for further assistance).

If you're comfortable opening the panel and reseating the card, I would suggest you try to reseat the wireless card and check if that helps.

Let me know the outcome.

Cheers!
