OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0005na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good morning,

Two of our Omen devices lost audio in two days after a recent update. (Model 15-ek0005na).

Latest driver updates:

Realtek driver:
Reversing the audio driver has been tried.
Reinstalling multiple versions of the driver has failed a well.
Windows, HP, and Intel tests all pass and doesn't show any issues.
Hardware tested via HP hardware tester and displays audio fine, Ubuntu image USB boot audio works fine as well.

Has anyone had similar issues recently?

You have now seen how nice it is to work with Windows 10/11 and everything gets broken by driver updates.

In this case, Microsoft and HP did not cooperate carefully.

Solution

(1) Use Windows sytem recovery to return to a <restore point> before the driver updates.

(2) Disable windows driver update

(3) Free yourself from the constraint of constantly having problems and therefore not being able to work. It is no longer user-friendly. Switch to an open source operating system. If you don't like the promised fresh fruit because it's rotten, you should switch to another manufacturer, it's as simple as that. This is my personal opinion, which should be heard by all who supposedly know better.
