Hi @sai0407,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Victus laptop's battery capacity is draining quickly, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
- Check Power Settings: Make sure your power settings are optimized. Go to "Control Panel" > "Power Options" and select a power plan that suits your needs. Adjust settings such as screen brightness, sleep mode, and display timeout to conserve battery life.
- Background Apps and Processes: Check for any resource-intensive background apps or processes that might be causing excessive battery drain. Use the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to identify and close any unnecessary applications.
- Battery Health Report: Windows provides a built-in battery health report tool that can give you insights into your battery's performance. Open a Command Prompt as an administrator and type in: powercfg /batteryreport. This will generate a report which you can access in the system directory.
- Software and Driver Updates: Ensure that your operating system and all drivers are up to date. Outdated software or drivers can sometimes lead to increased battery consumption.
- Malware Scan: Malware or viruses can cause your system to use more resources, leading to faster battery drain. Run a thorough malware scan using your preferred antivirus software.
- Disable Background Syncing: Applications that sync data in the background, such as email clients or cloud services, can contribute to battery drain. Consider disabling or adjusting the sync settings for these applications.
- Adjust Display Settings: The display is one of the biggest power consumers. Lowering the screen brightness and using power-saving display modes can help extend battery life.
- Battery Calibration: Sometimes, recalibrating your laptop's battery can help improve its accuracy. Fully charge your laptop, then use it until the battery is completely drained and the laptop shuts down. Charge it again to full without interruption. This process can help the battery management system relearn its capacity.
- Hardware Issues: If none of the software-based solutions seem to work, there might be a hardware issue with your laptop's battery.
- Battery Saver Mode: Many laptops, including HP models, have a "Battery Saver" mode that can help you extend battery life by limiting background processes and other power-hungry activities.
Remember that laptop battery performance can degrade naturally over time due to the chemistry of the battery. If your laptop is relatively old, it's possible that the battery's capacity has decreased significantly. In such cases, replacing the battery might be the best solution.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I think you didn't understand my question. Its not about battery draining I'm asking about full charge capacity. My laptop is only 1 month old . In that short period of time my full charge capacity is decreased to 96%. It usually takes around 6 to 7 months to get 96% but for me it has decreased in only one month . That's why I am asking for a solution
