So, I got this laptop a while back, but it only has 4 GB of RAM. (just regular RAM) So what type of Ram should I get for this problem?

I need the correct information about what you have... ie: the full product number of the laptop.

If you go to Start and navigate to the HP Support Assistant and run it, it will tell you the number.

or

Tap F1 at power-on to bring up the information screen.

OK thanks for the number.

Unfortunately, your laptop (HP Notebook - 14-an013nr) is a very very limited (low end) model.

The hard drive and memory are hard wired into the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

 

All you can do is increase storage via a USB drive or SD memory card.

You cannot increase ram.
