Hi @1-_1-_1-_Fra ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with HP Desktop PC M01-F1000i post firmware update black screen. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Experiencing a black screen or boot loop after a firmware update can be a challenging issue to resolve. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the computer.
  • Disconnect all peripheral devices (printer, USB drives, etc.).
  • Unplug the power cord from the computer.
  • Wait for about 10-15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the computer.

Boot into Safe Mode:

  • Try booting your computer into Safe Mode. This can help determine if the issue is related to a driver or third-party software.
  • To boot into Safe Mode, restart your computer and press the F8 key repeatedly while it's restarting. In Safe Mode, you can uninstall recently installed drivers or software that might be causing the issue.

Use System Restore:

  • If you have a system restore point created before the firmware update, you can use it to revert your system to a previous state.
  • Boot from a Windows installation media, choose Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Boot into Safe Mode and update your graphics drivers to the latest version. Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can sometimes cause boot issues.

Rollback Firmware Update:

  • If the issue started after a firmware update, try rolling back to the previous firmware version.
  • Check the HP support website for your specific model and see if they provide instructions on how to roll back firmware updates.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that Windows is up-to-date with the latest updates.
  • Boot into Safe Mode and manually check for updates.

Perform a System File Check (SFC) and DISM:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following commands:
  • sfc /scannow
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

  • Restart your computer after these commands finish.

Perform a Repair Install of Windows:

  • If none of the above steps work, you may consider performing a repair install of Windows. This will reinstall Windows while keeping your files and applications.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
