Hi All,
I have a hp omen 17 the main purpose of my usage is gaming for long hours so I decided to remove the battery and use it on direct supply it’s been almost a year I am using it without battery until 4 days ago I plugged in the battery just to check and it started showing 601 error
“The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low for optimal performance this battery need to be replaced
Primary internal battery 601
so I google the error for solutions and find out users suggesting to calibrate which requires to power off the laptop remove the cord than put the power cord back on hold power button for some seconds plug the battery right in or do some battery run test etc now I would love to go for the calibrate option but the battery is M2X5.0 with a little cord having 8 or 12 pin plug which gets directly into the mother board is it ok or possible to calibrate this type of batteries like this? also please suggest me if there is some other safe way also please refer image below TIATIA

Hi sorry I am replying this late, so I have ran the battery test via HP diagnostics both ways while logged in and on startup both tests got passed but I am still not sure if the battery is ok or not because when I see the power cord side there is one tiny led light which turns orange when the battery is charging and changes in to white if its fully charged but I've noticed the colors are changing randomly while the battery is charging state also yesterday suddenly got a BSoD error with F8 recovery and enter option tap both nothing happened kept showing that screen so I unplugged the power cord plugged it again and gladly it worked fine this time any clues whats going on thanks
