hp omen 17 storage

i bought a new hp omen 17-cb1024tx but it came with no hdd only 512 ssd, can i install a 2.5 inch ssd sata ? and does my laptop have the hard drive caddy?(sata connector and brackets), plus if i want to add a second ssd to the empty ssd slot whats the maximun capacity that i can get??

You has few options

1. add 2.5" HDD/SSD, you need Hard drive connector/cable part # L57362-001  OR
2. add another M.2 NVMe SSD to the second slot  OR
3. combine two options above OR
4. add same existing M.2 SSD to slot 2 and run as RAID 0 + 2.5" HDD/SSD

For me, option b is the simplest option.

no offence but open the laptop first take a photo of inside of the laptop to take SSD duel to cover off also, i have the same laptop ish but mine came with a HDD but upgraded and updated ram and SSD slots, if you look inside there should already be a SSD HDD carry slot and lead in there if correct, i put a normal 2.5 2TB hdd in mine there is not much og a difference the SSD is more needed just start the laptop faster, once running i used a normal Hard drive i do once running runs at normal speed so i dont see the point to be honest.

i did already, i need the brackets and the sata connector/cable, your one got them from the factory but mine i need to get them somehow and it's hard i only found the cable which is 37$ plus 11$ shipping that's a 48 us dollars around 60 aud more expensive then the hard itself.

whats the maximun storage u can upgrade to in ssd slots?

Hi ssd dont mater seagate is 6tb is the biggest. I removed the ssd of 500 and replaced it with two 2TB ssd and a 2TB hdd, the lead and case was on amazon. Cheaper than you just said

Hi you dont need the carry mind, use a 3D sticker about 5mm thick thats what i used in my pc to, the SSD i used 2x2TB of sarent rocket Q4 nvme4.0 and a 2Tb seagate HDD. Hope that helps, to be honest id sell it and get a different comoany laptop. I got my omen 17. And a pc omen 30l and never again hp is terrible ill never buy iff them again both of mine are only 6 months old.

You are 1000% right, plus our laptops don’t support pcle 4.0 only 3.0 so the ssds u have installed they will run only with pcle 3.0 speed  really we wasted our money
