I am using an HP Omen laptop. Earlier, when I selected a keyboard lighting from the Lighting tab, it stayed the same after sleep or shutdown.

But from the last 1–2 months, whenever my laptop goes to sleep (and even after shutdown), the keyboard lighting automatically switches to Light Studio lighting, even though I did not select it.

As soon as the system wakes up, Light Studio overrides my selected keyboard lighting. This did not happen before and started only after recent Omen Gaming Hub / Light Studio updates.

I want the keyboard to remember the lighting I select, not automatically change to Light Studio after sleep.

Is this a software bug or recent update issue, and is there any official fix for this?

Hi @kavin30,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're experiencing with your HP OMEN's keyboard lighting is likely due to the settings configuration within the OMEN Light Studio or Gaming Hub. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow to address this:

Update OMEN Gaming Hub and Light Studio:

  • Ensure that you are using the latest version of the OMEN Gaming Hub and Light Studio. Updates often contain bug fixes and improvements.
  • To update, open the OMEN Gaming Hub, navigate to the settings or about section, and check for updates.

Check Light Studio Settings:

  • Open the OMEN Light Studio.
  • Review your current configurations and ensure no automatic lighting changes are set for sleep or shutdown modes.
  • If any unwanted profiles or settings are active, adjust them to your desired configurations.

Configure Lighting Profiles:

  • Within the OMEN Gaming Hub, access the 'Lighting' section.
  • Save your preferred keyboard lighting as a new profile or ensure it is set as the default.

Re-install OMEN Gaming Hub:

  • Sometimes, a reinstallation might be necessary if the problem persists. Uninstall the current version from your system and then download the latest version from the HP support website.

Check System Updates:

  • Ensure your operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, system updates can affect software functionalities inadvertently.

Resetting Hub and Light Studio Preferences:

  • Try resetting the settings to default in both the OMEN Gaming Hub and Light Studio, and then configure them again as desired.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
