Hello, I recently have an issue with my pc charger. My pc is a HP Victus. Sometimes, it does not recharge my computer. And when It is not working, if I slightly move the components of my charger it sometimes works. I am currently living in Seoul,  South Korea, so I was wondering if there was any store where I could buy a new charger.

Best regards,
Arthur

Hi @arthur6234,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear you are facing an issue with the charger of your HP Victus laptop.

Review the checklist below to systematically identify and fix the charging problem:

1. Visual Inspection:

  • Check for damage: Inspect the entire length of the cable for frays, kinks, melted plastic, or bends.

  • Verify connections: Ensure the power brick is securely plugged in and the wall outlet is working. If the AC brick has an LED indicator, make sure it is lit.

2. Clean and Check the Port:

  • Remove debris: Inspect the charging port (or USB-C port) for dirt, dust, or lint that might be blocking the pins. Gently clear it with compressed air.

  • Connection check: Plug the charger in and gently wiggle it. If the connection feels too loose, the port itself might be damaged.

3. Software and Driver Fixes:

If your laptop says "plugged in, not charging," the battery drivers may need a refresh:

  1. Right-click the Windows Start menu and select Device Manager.

  2. Expand the Batteries category.

  3. Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall device.

  4. Restart your laptop; Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
