Hi @James102006,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re trying to find the keyboard lighting settings on your HP laptop. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check the keyboard shortcut
• Most HP laptops use the F4 key or the Fn + F4 combination to toggle the backlight.
• Press it once to turn it on, again to adjust brightness levels.

Verify if your model supports keyboard backlight
• Not all HP laptops include backlit keyboards.
• Look for a small backlight icon (a glowing keyboard symbol) on the F4 or F5 keys.

Check Windows Mobility Center
• Press Windows + X and select Mobility Center.
• If your model supports backlighting, you may see a Keyboard Backlight option there.

Check HP OMEN / HP Command Center (If you have an OMEN or Victus)
• Open OMEN Gaming Hub → Lighting.
• Adjust brightness, colors, or zones if supported.

Update HP drivers
• Open HP Support Assistant.
• Install any available updates for the keyboard, BIOS, or system firmware.

Power reset the laptop
• Shut down the laptop.
• Disconnect charger → Hold power button for 15 seconds → Start again.
• This resets hardware controllers and often restores the lighting keys.

Verify BIOS settings
• Restart → Press Esc → F10 for BIOS.
• Look for "Keyboard Backlight" under Advanced or System Configuration.

I hope this helps.
