Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding battery issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It's not uncommon for refurbished laptops to sometimes have issues that can affect performance, including battery life. Here are a few points to consider:

  1. Battery Health Check: If your laptop's battery drains quickly even without heavy usage, it might be due to the battery health itself. You can run a battery report to check its condition. Windows offers a built-in tool for this called Battery Report, which can help you diagnose the health and usage characteristics of your battery.

  2. Background Processes: Make sure there are no unnecessary background applications consuming resources. You can check this in the Task Manager to ensure that resource-intensive applications aren't running without your knowledge.

  3. Power Settings: Ensure that your laptop is using an appropriate power plan. You can adjust your power settings in Windows to maximize battery life by choosing a 'Battery Saver' mode.

  4. Software Updates: Make sure your system is updated to the latest drivers and firmware. HP Update and HP Support Assistant can help with automatic updates.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
