Hi @prathamesh0087,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your Victus by HP gaming laptop is consistently reaching 100°C despite changing the performance settings and cleaning the fans, it might be due to a few different factors.

Here’s a checklist of steps you can try:

  • Check for Dust and Obstructions: Ensure that the fan vents and heatsinks are free from dust and debris. Sometimes cleaning the fans is not enough; dust might be clogging the vents.
  • Reapply Thermal Paste: Over time, the thermal paste between the CPU/GPU and heatsink can degrade. Reapplying thermal paste can improve heat transfer and reduce temperatures.
  • Update BIOS and Drivers: Ensure that your BIOS and all system drivers (especially the graphics and chipset drivers) are up-to-date. Sometimes, thermal management improvements are included in updates.
  • Monitor and Adjust Power Settings: Go to the Windows Power Options and ensure that your laptop is set to a balanced or power-saving mode. High-performance modes can cause higher temperatures.
  • Check Background Processes: Sometimes background applications can cause high CPU or GPU usage, leading to higher temperatures. Check the Task Manager to see if any processes are unusually demanding.
  • Use a Cooling Pad: A cooling pad can help provide additional airflow and reduce the temperature of your laptop.
  • Inspect for Hardware Issues: If the issue persists, there might be a hardware problem. HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures
