OMEN Laptop - 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased a 15-dh1060nr from amazon and for the life of me I cant get the keyboard backlighting to work, I have tried

all the programs that your supposed to use and nothing work's.  No the function F4 doesn't work, the omen gaming hub ver 11.2.3.0 doesn't work and the omen light studio ver 0.1.10.0,  doesn't work the omen gaming hub isn't working for me either.

why does it have to be so difficult to turn the back lighting on for a laptop?. Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide for my lighting issues.

Holy carp!  That will do it, ya.

BUT if this is a new machine, I would absolutely not live with it. Its under warranty. Let HP fix it. Or if you purchased from a walk in store, take it back for exchange.

I think you will have create a separate sign-in for the warranty service. Then choose laptops and follow the prompts to register the device and make a claim.

Not sure whats going on. I assume you also manually  made sure Windows is fully up to date?

There are 4 downloads I know of to get the Game Hub working properly. Install  all these files and see what happens.

What happens?

Thanks for the quick response, I finally gave in and pulled the bottom off because I knew it wasn't a software issue after 2 days of racking my 🧠,  I couldn't believe the ribbon cable was unhooked  from the motherboard. Unfortunately it looks like the tech that set this unit up was in a hurry because the tiny ribbon cable was crimped in between the chassis. For now I am happy I solved the issue but as it turns out I wont be seeing these beautiful backlights after all because the ribbon cable was so badly damaged I couldn't get the cable to stay in the Molex connecter the way it was and I wasn't going to take the machine apart any further and maybe screw something else up, So I have decided to just live with it and buy wireless  keyboard.

Sure thing. Expect at least a 2 week turn around, yes. With Covid still around, maybe longer, IDK all depends.

HP will have to send you a mailing box first (and sometimes a separate Email for a printable mailing label).

If you have any concerns over privacy, wipe any saved data like email login and such (of course).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Good luck.
