Hi @KindTouch,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the manual boost feature on your OMEN by HP Transcend 16-inch Gaming Laptop (16-u1000) is not working, it could be due to software issues, configuration settings, or even hardware limitations. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check OMEN Gaming Hub Settings

  • Open the OMEN Gaming Hub software.
  • Navigate to the Performance Control or Manual Boost section.
  • Ensure that manual boost is enabled and properly configured for your use case.
  • Verify that the performance mode is set to "Performance" or "Turbo" mode, as manual boost might not work in power-saving modes.

2. Update OMEN Gaming Hub HP PCs - OMEN Gaming Hub

  • Go to the Microsoft Store and check for updates for the OMEN Gaming Hub app.
  • Install any available updates, as bugs in outdated versions could cause issues.

3. Check BIOS and Firmware

  • Ensure your BIOS is up-to-date. You can do this using:
    • HP Support Assistant: Look for any pending updates.
    • The HP website: Download and install the latest BIOS for your specific laptop model.

4. Update Graphics Drivers  Software and Drivers for OMEN Transcend Laptop 16-u1797ng (9P1U1EA)

  • Download and install the latest drivers for your GPU from:
    • NVIDIA or AMD (depending on your graphics card).
    • Or use the HP Support Assistant to check for driver updates.

5. Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub

  • Uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub from your system.
  • Download and reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.
  • Launch it again and reconfigure the manual boost settings.

6. Check Fan and Hardware Status

  • Use the System Vitals feature in OMEN Gaming Hub to monitor hardware.
  • If the fans aren’t ramping up when the boost is activated, it could indicate a hardware issue.

7. Power Settings and Performance Profile

  • Make sure your laptop is plugged in, as manual boost might not function correctly on battery power.
  • Set Windows performance mode to "High Performance":
    1. Go to Settings > System > Power & Sleep > Additional Power Settings.
    2. Select High Performance or Best Performance.

8. Perform a System Reset (Optional)

  • If none of the above steps work, consider resetting the OMEN Gaming Hub settings to default.
  • Alternatively, reset your Windows performance settings to default.

9. Hardware Check HP PCs - Testing for hardware failures

  • If the issue persists, there may be a hardware fault with the cooling system or the fan controller.
  • Run the HP Diagnostics tool by restarting your laptop and pressing F2 during boot.
  • Perform a hardware test to check for errors.
