i bought an omen 15 laptop about two years ago and i am recently having issues with overheating, i would stop using it until i can get the fans cleaned but i use it a lot for my homework. the other day i was having an issue where my CPU at idle would average around 82 degrees and my GPU around 62. the GPU would stay at that temp while playing games like Automation and BeamNG.Drive but my CPU would spike to around 92 just loading the menu in these games then settle back to 83-85 degrees. i continued through the games to see the temps skyrocket to 100 degrees and to have it shut off (i knew this wasn't good for it but it was a risk that i took anyways) but this would only happen when it was plugged in . i found a workaround to the CPU by just setting the maximum processor state to 20% but now the GPU temps are getting to about 82 degrees and higher with the CPU doing about the same. i would like to know what is causing these absurd temperatures, i know the fans need to be cleaned but can that really cause that big of an issue? and i have also noticed that sometimes one of my fans won't be on and at times will be spinning slower than the other, is that normal or is the fan defective? also is it safe for the GPU to be operating at 82 degrees because from what i have seen under load it should be around 60-80 (and the 82 is just recent, i am continuing to test as i edit this post). My laptop is running an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and an RTX 3060 in case that matters.
