Hi @Zheva ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2047ax laptop does not have a built-in battery limiter feature. The cycle count you're seeing indicates the number of charge-discharge cycles the battery has undergone. Over time, as you use your laptop and charge it, this count will naturally increase.

The decrease in your battery's capacity (from the design capacity of 53 WHr to the remaining capacity of 35 WHr) is also a normal phenomenon that occurs as lithium-ion batteries age. However, the rate at which this occurs can be influenced by factors such as usage patterns, charging habits, and environmental conditions.

To prolong your battery's lifespan and maintain its capacity as much as possible, you can follow these general tips:

  • Avoid Deep Discharges: Try to avoid letting your battery fully discharge frequently. Lithium-ion batteries prefer shallow discharge cycles.
  • Avoid Extreme Temperatures: High temperatures can degrade battery capacity over time. Avoid exposing your laptop to excessive heat.
  • Moderate Charging: While it's okay to leave your laptop plugged in, try not to keep it constantly at 100% charge for extended periods. Letting it discharge a bit before recharging can be beneficial.
  • Battery Calibration: Occasionally, calibrate your battery by fully charging it, then allowing it to discharge completely before recharging it again. This can help recalibrate the battery's internal sensors for more accurate readings.
  • Optimize Power Settings: Adjust your laptop's power settings to optimize battery life. Lowering screen brightness and turning off unnecessary background processes can help conserve battery power.
  • Update Drivers and BIOS: Sometimes, software updates can include optimizations for battery life. Make sure your laptop's drivers and BIOS are up to date.
