The first time i got the laptop HP victus 15-fa2701wm, in the omen gaming hub there was no performance profile feature while the only ones available are Eco, quiet and the default one. yesterday when i got i think a firmware update, i noticed that the performance mode appeared on the gaming hub which i thought that it might be a new  feature added to the laptop making the gaming experience improved and dedicated to games, when i tried it the experience in the games was much better and more stable. later when the laptop was turned off and turned on again the performance mode is gone. i tried to check wether it was a mistake or a bug that happened so i checked for solutions online. from checking the Ac adapter, all the drivers to the latest versions, making the maximum perfomrance settings in nivida and windows, it didnt make the button appear again. so regarding this issue, can i at least know why the laptop is kept limited from its full potential and not giving performance mode that is dedicated to proritizing the power to games like most of the laptops out there and if the firmware update is actually meant to give this feature to my laptop model, how to get it back?. to be honest, the gaming expericence with the laptop is decent and can get the job . getting an answer where the default mode is the best experience for games is not something beliveable since the default probably balances the performance and energy saving when it says "suitable for all types of tasks" when performance is what the gaming laptop users are looking for. having it limited like this or not given the feature is not something appreciatable to a "user that has a gaming laptop".

Hi @oa47,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I completely understand how it must feel to see the Performance Mode option appear briefly in Omen Gaming Hub, only to disappear again after restarting your HP Victus 15 fa2082wm.

To help us narrow down the cause, could you please share:

  • The current BIOS version installed.
  • The Omen Gaming Hub version you’re running.
  • Whether you were connected to AC power when Performance Mode was available.

Here are a few steps you can try in the meantime:

  1. Check Omen Gaming Hub updates
    • Open the Microsoft Store → Library → Updates. Make sure Omen Gaming Hub is fully updated. Sometimes features are tied to the latest software release.
  2. Verify BIOS and firmware
    • Open HP Support Assistant → Updates → Check for updates. Install any pending BIOS or firmware updates, as these can unlock or stabilize performance profiles.
  3. AC Adapter requirement
    • Performance Mode often only appears when the laptop is plugged into the original HP AC adapter. If you were on battery, the option may disappear.
  4. Reset Omen Gaming Hub
    • Go to Settings → Apps → Omen Gaming Hub → Advanced Options → Reset. This clears cached settings that may be hiding the profile.
  5. NVIDIA Control Panel check
  • Ensure "Prefer maximum performance" is selected under Power Management Mode for your GPU.

I hope this helps.

Hello,

thanks for responding to me, i will try to give as much details as possible.

this laptop model HP victus 15-fa2701wm when it came out of the box, i didnt find the performance mode feature in omen gaming hub nor i find any other types of power plans anywhere other than balanced, the option from settings is chosen as best performance when plugged.

oa47_0-1775739749293.png

the details that might help you:

-BIOS Version/Date: AMI F.06, 11/13/2025

-omen gaming hub verison: 1101.2603.3.0

-I was definitely plugged to AC power and using the original 120W AC Adapter and even when removing it, feature was there until i turned off the laptop.

-I checked the the updates for both the omen gaming hub and the drivers and everything is in the latest version.

-I reset omen gaming hub and still not appearing.
-The AC Adapter is the original one that was included in the box (120W AC Adapter).

-power managment mode is selected as "Prefer maximum performance" in NVIDIA Control Panel.

now for the real question: is the performance mode feature as shown in the previous mesasge is supported on the HP victus 15-fa2701wm models or no?

-if yes, then i am not sure what is the issue.
-if no, then the this was a glitch, but even though when using it, the experience was much better.

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

I have reviewed all the points you mentioned and confirmed that everything is correct and already checked on my side.

Here are the requested details:

  • The feature is not there when i got the laptop fresh out of the box.
  • BIOS version: BIOS Version/Date AMI F.06, 11/13/2025
  • Omen Gaming Hub version: 1101.2603.3.0
  • Connection status when Performance Mode appeared: i noticed it when plugged in and also stayed there when unplugged until i turned the laptop off.
  • Power managment mode is selected as the maximum performance in NVIDIA Control Panel
  • All the drivers and applications are up to date

Additionally, I am using the original 120W HP AC adapter, and the laptop was connected to it.

Despite this, the Performance Mode option is not there.

Please let me know what else I can provide to help resolve this issue.

and one last thing to make sure:

is the performance mode feature available and supported for the HP victus 15-fa2701wm laptop models or not?

if Yes, then i am not sure where the issue is.

if No, then this was a glitch that happened, but even though while using it, it made the experience better.

EDIT:

SORRY I HAD A MISTAKE

Hi @oa47,

Thanks for your response and Thank you for sharing such detailed information I can tell you’ve already done a very thorough job of checking all the right settings, updates, and hardware details.

I completely understand how it must feel to see the “Performance Mode” option appear briefly and then disappear, especially since you noticed a real improvement when it was active.

To clarify: on the HP Victus 15‑fa2701wm, the Omen Gaming Hub does not officially support the same “Performance Mode” feature that is available on higher‑end Omen models.

Victus systems are designed with a simplified power profile structure, typically limited to “Balanced” and Windows’ own performance slider. What you experienced was most could a temporary glitch in the Omen Gaming Hub software that showed a feature not intended for this model. That would explain why it vanished after a restart and hasn’t returned, even with updates and resets.

The good news is that your system is still optimized to deliver strong performance when plugged into AC power, with NVIDIA’s “Prefer maximum performance” setting and Windows’ “Best performance” slider working together.

I truly appreciate your patience and the effort you’ve put into troubleshooting. Even though “Performance Mode” isn’t officially supported on this model, your feedback is valuable, and I’ll make sure it’s noted.

I hope this helps.
