Performance mode missing in omen gaming hub

2 REPLIES 2

Performance mode appears in the OMEN Gaming Hub app if your specific Omen model supports it, typically under the Performance Control tab when plugged in. Some entry-level Omen/Victus models limit it to Default due to hardware/thermal caps. It's not hardware related issue, so use max plan that available to you.

Hi @Rajbir000

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the details. I understand how concerning it can be when the Performance mode option is missing in Omen Gaming Hub, and I appreciate any troubleshooting steps you may have already tried.

Let’s go through a structured set of checks and actions to help restore or confirm the availability of Performance mode:

Step 1: Verify Omen Gaming Hub Version

  • Open Omen Gaming Hub.
  • Go to Settings > About and check the version.
  • If it’s outdated, update it through the Microsoft Store to ensure you have the latest features.

Step 2: Confirm Omen Gaming Hub Services

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate Omen Gaming Hub Service and ensure it is running.
  • If stopped, right-click and select Start.
  • Set the startup type to Automatic.

Step 3: Check HP System Event Utility

  • Open Apps & Features in Windows.
  • Ensure HP System Event Utility is installed.
  • If missing, reinstall it from HP’s support site, as it enables communication between hardware and Omen Gaming Hub.

Step 4: Update BIOS and Drivers

  • Open HP Support Assistant or Windows Device Manager.
  • Update the BIOS, chipset drivers, and graphics drivers.
  • Performance mode often depends on the system recognizing the latest firmware and drivers.

Step 5: Validate Power Settings

  • In Windows Settings > System > Power & Battery, ensure the power mode is set to Best Performance.
  • Restart the system and check if Performance mode appears in Omen Gaming Hub.

Step 6: Reinstall Omen Gaming Hub

  • Uninstall Omen Gaming Hub from Apps & Features.
  • Restart the PC.
  • Reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.

If after these steps the Performance mode option is still missing, it may indicate that the system hardware or configuration does not support that specific mode. In such cases, the available modes are automatically adjusted by the software.
