@victus15enjoyer,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

On the HP Victus 15 (Intel 13th Gen / RTX 4050), the official "Performance Mode" toggle inside the OMEN Gaming Hub app is intentionally hidden or restricted by HP. HP locks this specific toggle to its premium OMEN and Victus 16 lines because the smaller Victus 15 chassis uses a more limited single-fan or restricted dual-fan thermal design.

However, you can still unlock the exact same performance and wattage capabilities by using a combination of Windows overrides, NVIDIA priority tweaks, and official open-source community patches:

1. The Community Fix: Force Unleashed Mode via OmenMon:

The most effective way to unlock true Performance mode and manual fan controls on a Victus 15 is by using OmenMon, a lightweight open-source software replacement for the heavy Omen Gaming Hub.

  1. Go to GitHub and download the latest release of OmenMon.
  2. Close your official OMEN Gaming Hub completely (end its tasks in Task Manager).
  3. Open OmenMon. It bypasses HP's arbitrary software locks, allowing you to select Performance/Unleashed profiles and override the fan restrictions that HP artificially hid on the 15-inch model.

2. Force Windows "Ultimate Performance" Mode:

Windows has a hidden, aggressive power delivery plan designed to eliminate processor scaling delays. It is locked by default on consumer laptops, but you can force it open:

  1. Press the Windows Key, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and choose Run as Administrator.
  2. Copy and paste the following command, then hit Enter:
    powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61
  3. Open your Windows Control Panel, navigate to Power Options, click Show additional plans, and select Ultimate Performance.

3. Maximize the RTX 4050 in the Nvidia Control Panel:

Since your physical chassis limits total system power (TGP), you must force the RTX 4050 to request maximum wattage during gaming sessions:

  1. Right-click your desktop and open the Nvidia Control Panel.
  2. Click Manage 3D Settings in the left sidebar.
  3. Under Global Settings, scroll down to Power Management Mode.
  4. Change it from "Normal" to Prefer Maximum Performance.
  5. Scroll to Preferred Graphics Processor and ensure it is set to High-Performance Nvidia Processor rather than Auto/Integrated.

4. Enable MUX Switch / Discrete GPU Mode:

If your exact 13th-generation Victus 15 configuration includes a MUX switch, routing graphics through the integrated card will bottleneck your RTX 4050.

  1. Open OMEN Gaming Hub and look at the left-hand column.
  2. Click on your Victus Laptop tab.
  3. Look for a sub-tab named Graphics Switcher (if available on your sub-model).
  4. Switch it from Hybrid to Discrete mode and reboot. This directly links your display to the RTX 4050, instantly yielding a 10-15% FPS boost.

Kind Regards,
