Hi, i have the same problem as described here https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/quot-Controls-the-DTS-audio-processing-object-quot-ta...

I tried to do steps described in the message provided from expert, except one with bios update, since link is broken, and it didn't help. After reboot this process started again.

I suppose the problem appeared after connecting new USB audio card. Now the card is disconnected but process "Controls the DTS audio processing" still running.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the “Controls the DTS audio processing" process takes a lot CPU resources.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. Open device manager and then Expand “Sound, Video and Game controllers” or under “other devices” in Device manager.
  2. To find the audio drivers installed on your computer.
  3. Right-click on the audio drivers listed there and uninstall the Intel high definition audio and Realtek audio drivers listed there.
  4. Delete the drivers if prompted during the uninstall process.
  5. Once done, click on View and select Devices by connection on the Device manager. Expand ACPI x64 based PC.
  6. Expand PCI Express Root complex and right-click on Intel Smart Sound technology Audio controller and uninstall the device.
  7. Make sure to delete the driver if prompted during the uninstall process.
  8. Once done, click on Action and Scan for hardware changes twice in the device manager. Close device manager.
  9. Open Settings from the Windows menu.
  10. Click on Update and Security and check for updates to get the new audio driver for your computer.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
