Does my laptop support 16 gb 3000mhz ram? i have 12gb 2660mhz currently installed.

HEllo @GreaterFeatz

 

No the bios is locked on an HP system.

It can only utilize up the the giving speed the specs show.

3000MHz ram might run in the slots, but if so would be clocked down to 2660 or 2400.

Thanks, i dont know if i can ask a question like this but if i upgrade from a 12gb to 16gb of ram with the same mhz will it increased performance on gaming?
