Im working on it with just browser and some programs and sometimes temperature is 80or 85 , i can check in the omen gaming hub. And when i play some games like state of decay 2 or anyone, temperature is about 100. Is taht ok, i think is too much. Hello @ebenknot

As I wrote before -> Regarding Overheating

This includes:

Short circuit test ( if required )

- charger/battery test

There is someting wrong:

charger <=> mainboard

In mose service cases mainboard and/or charger will be replaced !

(1) Install and start <Open Hardware Monitor>

https://openhardwaremonitor.org/

Hello @ebenknot

! Regarding overheating !

In your case: Service is required !
- The computer should be disassembled and checked.
- Thermal paste for CPU GPU and bridges must be renewed

High quality thermal paste should be used !

- The function of the fan(s) must be checked

- Short circuit test ( if required )

- charger/battery test

- Components test

- General cleaning ...

--- HP warranty valid -> Contact HP Support

--- HP warranty expired:

If you can't do that, you should have it <serviced> by a professional notebook (chip level) repair store.

For me, the case is closed ...

Good luck

i have just bought in June, and i have 3 yeras warranty in the store where i bought. is so sad because i really like this labtop but hp always have problems with temperature. they had the same problem for years....

Hello @ebenknot

You should use a good cooling pad. It is important to check the CPU and GPU temperatures regularly. With permanent overheating, the thermal paste dries out and loses its function!

Good luck

thank you for the info. Does the cooling pad actyually works? i will check. But yesterday i was making some test and is so weird because i was like doing normal things in the labtop and it was like 90 degrees BUT i have just unpluged from power......and then it was like magic. in seconds the temperature dropped a lot. When i put plug again and choose  battery options to save battery was nice.....i think this was a little bit crazy

Hello @ebenknot

(1) The cause of overheating must be solved -> Service !

! Attention !

With constant overheating, the thermal paste for CPU, GPU and bridges

dries out and loses its function and must therefore be renewed !

If you do not change this condition, notebook/mainboard/components will suffer partial or total damage.

(2) Cooling pad can help < later > as addon
