Hi @ivar132001
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If you uninstall the camera driver from Device Manager, don't worry — Windows usually restores it automatically.
Here's how to get it working again on your HP Victus laptop:
If You Already Uninstalled the Camera Driver
Option 1: Restart Your Laptop
Simply restart your laptop after uninstalling the camera driver.
Windows 11 will likely detect the missing camera hardware and automatically reinstall the correct driver.
Then check your camera again (e.g., open the Camera app or use Zoom).
Option 2: Scan for Hardware Changes
Press Windows + X → Select Device Manager
Click on "Action" in the top menu → Choose "Scan for hardware changes"
Windows should detect the camera and reinstall the driver.
Option 3: Reinstall the Driver Manually from HP or Windows Update
Option A: From Windows Update
Open Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates
Check if there’s a camera driver update listed under Driver updates
If yes, install it
Option B: From HP’s Website
Go to HP Support: Software & Drivers
Enter your model (HP Victus <model number>, e.g., 16-e0000 or 15-fa0031dx)
Choose your OS (Windows 11)
Download the Camera Driver (often listed under “Driver - Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices” or “Driver - Imaging”)
Install and restart
Can't See Camera in Device Manager?
If "Camera" or "Imaging Devices" is missing from Device Manager:
In Device Manager, go to View > Show Hidden Devices
Still missing? Your camera may be:
Disabled in BIOS
Disabled by privacy settings (see below)
Check Windows Privacy Settings
Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera
Make sure:
Camera access is ON
Apps (like Zoom, Camera, Teams) have permission to use it
Final Tip: Enable Camera in BIOS (If Disabled)
Sometimes the camera is disabled at firmware level:
Restart your laptop
Press Esc or F10 during boot to enter BIOS Setup
Look for any setting related to Integrated Camera or Built-in Camera
Make sure it's Enabled
Save and exit
Let me know your exact HP Victus model number (like 16-e0005 or 15-fa0xxx) if you want direct download links for your camera driver.
