Hi @madhurisahu2907,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop's touchpad isn't working or the cursor isn't moving when you use it, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix minor issues.
  • Check Touchpad Settings: Ensure that the touchpad is enabled in your laptop's settings. You can usually find this in the "Mouse and touchpad" or "Touchpad" section of your laptop's settings.
  • Update Drivers: Make sure your touchpad drivers are up to date. You can do this through Device Manager on Windows or by visiting HP's support website to download and install the latest drivers for your laptop model.
  • Function Key: Many laptops have a function key combination (usually Fn + a function key) to enable or disable the touchpad. Pressing this combination might toggle the touchpad on or off.
  • Clean the Touchpad: Sometimes, dirt or debris can interfere with the touchpad's functionality. Gently clean the touchpad surface with a soft cloth.
  • Check for Physical Damage: Ensure there are no physical damages to the touchpad or its surrounding area.
  • System Restore: If the issue started recently, consider performing a system restore to revert your laptop to a previous state when the touchpad was working fine.
  • Check for Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps work, there might be a hardware issue with the touchpad.

By going through these steps, you should be able to identify and hopefully resolve the issue with your HP laptop's touchpad.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
