Hi @Samarth_2005

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining the issue—I'm really sorry you're experiencing touchpad lag while charging your Victus by HP 15-fa2000. That contrast between smooth battery performance and sluggish behavior on AC power can be frustrating, especially when everything else seems to work fine.

Let’s walk through a focused approach to help resolve it:

Step-by-Step Fix for Touchpad Lag While Charging

1. Update BIOS and System Drivers

Outdated firmware can cause power-related input lag.

  • Visit: HP Victus 15-fa2000 Drivers & BIOS
  • Download and install:
    • Latest BIOS update
    • Touchpad driver (often listed under “Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices”)
    • HP System Event Utility

These updates help synchronize power profiles and input responsiveness.

2. Adjust Power Settings

Windows may throttle input devices under certain power plans.

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options
  • Select Balanced or HP Recommended
  • Click Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings
  • Expand Processor power management
    • Set Minimum processor state to 100% for both battery and plugged in
  • Expand USB settings > USB selective suspend
    • Set to Disabled

This ensures consistent performance across power modes.

3. Disable Precision Touchpad Enhancements

Some enhancements may conflict with AC power input.

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Touchpad
  • Turn off:
    • Touchpad sensitivity enhancements
    • Gestures or multi-finger features temporarily

This helps isolate whether advanced features are causing the lag.

4. Test with a Different Charger

If possible, try a genuine HP charger with the same voltage and wattage.

A faulty or mismatched adapter can introduce electrical noise that affects input devices.

5. Run HP Diagnose & Fix Tool

Let me know what happens after the BIOS and driver updates—I’ll guide you further based on that.

You’re doing everything right by catching this early—I’ll stay with you until it’s resolved.
