Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I know this model has a second M.2 SSD slot, but does an upgrade (for instance a 500 gig ssd) fit within the warranty?

I'm not sure what you're asking exactly.  The CTO model can be configured at the time of ordering with 2 SSD's and since they are installed by HP, they are warrantied.

If you install your own SSD, your warranty wont be voided unless you damage the laptop in the process. The drive you install wont be covered by HP either.
