Hi @Kotla_sai-08,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can truly understand how frustrating it must be to experience slow performance and charging issues on your HP Pavilion 15.6" Gaming Laptop PC 15-ec2xxx, especially when you're expecting high performance during plugged-in use. Let’s walk through this together and get your laptop back to running the way it should.

Step-by-Step Fixes
1. Check Windows Power Plan Settings

Sometimes, Windows switches to a power-saving mode even when plugged in.

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options
  • Select High Performance or HP Recommended
  • Click Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings
  • Under Processor power management, set:
    • Minimum processor state: 100%
    • Maximum processor state: 100%

💡 This ensures your CPU runs at full speed when plugged in.

2. Check HP Command Center or OMEN Gaming Hub

HP laptops often come with HP Command Center or OMEN Gaming Hub, which controls thermal and power profiles.

  • Open the app and check if it's set to “Cool” or “Quiet” mode; these can throttle performance.
  • Switch to “Performance” or “Gaming” mode.

3. Inspect Your Charger

A low-wattage or faulty charger can cause both slow charging and performance throttling.

  • Make sure you're using the original HP 150W or 200W adapter (depending on your model).
  • If the charger is underpowered, the system may throttle the CPU/GPU to avoid overheating or overdraw.

If unsure, I can help you check your exact model’s required wattage.

4. Update BIOS and Drivers

Outdated firmware can cause power management bugs.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
