Hello Everybody!!

I configure my scanning session in this way:

1 side, 300 ppp, B/W, document. Estimated size 1.1 mb.

Once I scan, and hit send to folder I choose pdf/a, pdf searching text compatibility. Final size is 13.7 mb. There is a problem that the software changes B/W to Grey Scale. So the final size y really huge. I have experienced that problem since a year ago. Earlier there was not that problem. the sizes for 8 pages were les than 1 mb at B/W 300 ppp, pdf/a and searching text compatibility. Dont know whats going on. I upload some screenshots. I would appreciate any help on this. Thx a lot.Captura de pantalla 2017-11-19 a las 10.06.30.pngCaptura de pantalla 2017-11-19 a las 10.21.08.pngCaptura de pantalla 2017-11-19 a las 10.21.45.pngCaptura de pantalla 2017-11-19 a las 10.22.49.png

Hello, @Lovermain – Greetings!

Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

Going through your post, I see that you are facing issues while scanning with the HP Easy Scan app. Try the steps below to try and fix the issue:

  • Uninstall the old printer drivers first. Follow the steps mentioned here: http://hp.care/2cKwLyC
  • Remove the HP Easy Scan from the PC as well.
  • Now run the Apple Software Update. Check here for steps: http://hp.care/2cNgw3C
  • Restart your computer and printer.
  • Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
  • Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
  • Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
  • Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
  • Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
  • Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
  • Now, click http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip to download and install the printer driver.
  • In the “Add printer” window, make sure you add the printer as mentioned below:
  1. Click the “Add button” (+).
  2. Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
  3. Click “Print Using...” or “Use”, and then select Secure AirPrint or AirPrint. Alternatively, you may select the name of your printer if available in that list.

Now, install the HP Easy Scan from here and check: http://apple.co/2lsPpwU

Let me know if that helps!

Good luck 🙂

Hello, @Lovermain

Try some alternate scanning methods and check.

Go to http://hp.care/2oNZU3g  and follow the options under "Are other scanning apps or methods available?"

Try the HP Scan, Image capture & scan with AirPrint options.

Thanks, I'll watch for your reply!
