Hi! @MichaelMenty, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand your phone is not getting recognized by the PC to transfer the music files.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your laptop?

Have you tried checking with a different USB cable or a different USB port?

Are you able to use a different device on your PC?

Please share the product number of your PC to assist you better.

As you mentioned your phone is not getting recognized by the PC to transfer the music files.

Download and install the drivers from the smartphone manufacturers website directly and check if it helps.

Try the steps recommended below.

Press Windows Key + X and choose Device Manager from the menu.
Locate your Android device, right click it and choose Update Driver Software.
Click Browse my computer for driver software.
Now click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
From the list choose MTP USB Device and click Next.
After the driver has been installed, your Android device should be recognized.

If the issue still persists Use a different USB cable, Install driver from phone manufacturers website and Enable USB debugging on your phone.

Sometimes your Android phone isn’t recognized due to driver issues, so you might want to try updating your drivers. To do that, follow these steps:

Press Windows Key + X and choose Device Manager from the menu.
Locate your Android device, right click it and choose Update Driver Software.
We recommend you to download this driver updater tool (100% safe and tested by us)  to do it automatically.
Click Browse my computer for driver software.
Now click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
From the list choose MTP USB Device and click Next.
After the driver has been installed, your Android device should be recognized.

Also, Enable USB debugging

Users have reported that enabling USB debugging can sometimes help with this issue. To enable USB debugging on your Android phone, do the following:

  1. Go to Settings and tap Developer Options.
  2. If you receive a warning message, click OK.
  3. Now you need to enable Developer Options and check USB debugging.
  4. After the warning message appears, click OK to close it.

If you are using Android 4.2 or newer, USB Debugging option might be hidden on your device. To enable USB Debugging, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings and tap on About phone.
  2. Scroll to Build Number and tap it seven times.
  3. After doing that, you’ll be able to turn on USB Debugging.

After you’ve enabled USB debugging, check if your Android phone is recognized.

I have tried all these options but none worked. In my device manager, the MTP still has a yellow coloured triangle, suggesting error I guess, so does HP un2420 mobile broadband module.
I tried using the driver updater, but it didn't show these error drives, however, I updated every outdated drive but all to no avail. I really need help, I'm frustrated.
The OS is Windows 10, HP mini 110, 2gb RAM & 32 bit.
Thanks in advance

I appriciate your efforts for writing back to us.

Did you try checking with a different USB cable?

Are other devices getting detected on your PC?

As you mentioned the issue still persists after trying out the steps.

Try the steps recommended below.

(1) Go to C:\Windows\INF

(2) Type "wpdmtp.inf" in search bar provided to the right of the address bar in Windows 10.

(3) Once you found it, just right click on it and select install. It will take a very few seconds.

(4) Connect your device to the pc.

If other devices are getting detected on your PC. It is an issue with the smartphone.

I'm so sorry I couldn't get back to you earlier. Not to sound pessimistic, but none of the above proffered solutions worked.
I'm kind of losing it. The MTP, PCI etc. still has that error mark. Worse still, the PC cannot read any Android phone but it can read other drives such as memory card, flash, external hard drive etc.
If nothing else can be done, please can you recommend any software that can enable me run Android apps on the system, that way, I can use Android transfer apps to connect.
Thanks in anticipation. Waiting for your response.

I appreciate your efforts for writing back to us.

Did you try checking with a different USB cable?

As you mentioned the other USB devices are getting recognized on your PC but the android phone is not getting recognized.

Reinstall Android Drivers

Sometimes you might not have the latest drivers, which will result in recognition problem, so it’s suggested that you should reinstall your Android drivers.
Uninstall current Android drivers:
Connect Android to computer -> open Device Manager -> locate your Android device -> right click the device and choose Uninstall -> disconnect your phone.
Reinstall Android drivers:
Reconnect your Android -> wait for Windows 10 to install its drivers again -> check if your phone is detected by the computer.

Please go to the android phone manufacturers website to download the drivers for your PC.

Also, since other devices are able to connect to your PC. It certainly looks to be an issue with the android phone please contact phone manufacturer for more assistance.
