DeskJet 2600

Hey there,

I recently bought an HP DeskJet 2600 All-in-One-series printer but there's an issue.  Ever time I try printing something out, it wouldn't print all and about 2 minutes later, my computer says "Printing error".  The only time it could print was when I pressed the "Start Copy Black" button 2 times but it printed 2 or my orginal picture ; one that was 1/4 finished and one that was fully done.  I'm not sure if I need to do HP connect.  I'm not sure if it even does web services.

Can someone help me?

Hello, @PandiUnicorn – Greetings!

Thanks for engaging in the HP Forums! I see by your post that you are having trouble with your HP printer. I will certainly do my best to help you 🙂

Going through your post, I understand that printer is having trouble printing with your Deskjet printer. To assist you better, I need to know the operating system on your PC. Please reply with the details.

Assuming you are using a Windows PC, let’s first try to fix this issue using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to http://hp.care/2bZ9w2q to download and run HP PSDR. Once you open the program, select your printer and click on “Fix Printing” to automatically diagnose and fix the issue.

If the issue persists, then I’d suggest you perform a clean install to try and fix the issue:

  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Deskjet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Now click HP DeskJet 2600 All-in-One Printer series to install the software.
  • Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Those steps should do the trick, let me know the outcome!

Cheers 🙂

I did not see a "Accept Solution" icon or box, but I did want to let you know, that although it was so much to go through, It Worked!

I struggled for 9 hours over 2 days, and have such a headache!

However after all that; my computer still did not actually Print. After further investigation, I was finally able to determine that Microsoft Windows 10  (probably under prompts from Microsoft Office 365) still would not provide a physical printout of my PDF document, because the App had determined that "Print" actually ment to save the document into one of several different "printable type" formats.

I had to find a box that said to disengage the App from deciding how to appropriately print my document. Once I unchecked that box, I was able to get a physical printout of a document which must be physically sent throught the United States Postal Service to an insurance company, so that I could get a rebate of my prescriptions expendatures.

Why am I telling you this? I just wanted you as an employee of a tech company to know, believe and understand, that Not every company in the world, nor this country uses the web, or emails, or faxes, to conduct business, and to please keep that in mind for the future of your company. And that one of the reasons for this include Signatures.

Due to hacking fraud, anyone can pretend they are someone else, get a PIN# in place of an actual cursive signature and conduct business. Let's face it, as much as technology does, has done, can do, and will do in the future, there is room for hacking fraud.

I would never know if one of my accounts was hacked, but I'd certainly be able to tell if someone tried to forge my name.

Thank you, for all of your help! I am thrilled it worked!
