I need the claim code to set up my printer in HP smart and connect to my WiFi and fix printer head problem. I cannot obtain the claim code bc the LCD screen keeps telling me I need to replace the pribterheads, and I cannot override that option to set up the printer to connect to my wifi to obtain the claim code. I bought the printer second hand so I dont have a claim code

@Parrish1, Welcome to HP Support Community!

I see that the printer is in an error state due to which you are unable to print the claim code for the printer. And in order to fix any printer issues, you need to start with resolving the error.

Follow the steps below-

Reset the printer

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. Remove the ink cartridges.
  4. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  5. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  6. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  7. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  8. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  9. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  10. Install the ink cartridges.
  11. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
