Product: Hp550
Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista

I have a HP 550 laptop

When I plug the battery And the laptop is off It does not charge. The light comes on for a couple of seconds then nothing.

when I plug the charger and I switch on my laptop, the laptop comes on as normal, but I get the message ‘no battery is detected’

can You help me with that

Sounds like the battery needs to be replaced, The Maintenance and Service Guide shows part number for battery as 500764-001. You should be able to do a google search and find compatible matches.
